The Battle Joined
To live up to the name of this website, I will do my best to be bold in my writing. I have decided to stop taking the easy way out and will no longer silently suffer while the nation and world I grew up in become unrecognizable. Events of the past few years should leave no doubt that we are in a culture war. While we have been distracted with our busy lives and, I will be the first to admit, other idols such as sports and Netflix, the spiritual enemies of God have gained a foothold in education and culture. Previously fringe concepts have been thrust into the limelight and forced upon our society and our children, in particular.
Young minds are being polluted with insidious concepts such as Critical Race Theory (CRT), which mocks God who created all people in His image (Genesis 5:1), each with specific individual characteristics as laid out in Psalm 139:13-16, by claiming people’s skin color alone determines their fate in society.
Children as young as pre-school are being exposed to gender theory that actively denies that God created just two genders, Male and Female (Genesis 5:2). In its worst forms, the purveyors of these philosophies equate playing dress up at 4 years old with meaning children want to have a permanent medical procedure to alter how they were born. They would also have us stand by idle while we, in the name of tolerance, allow boys and men to enter women’s restrooms. These policies have already had devastating consequences and will continue to if we don’t face the uncomfortable fact that these issues exist and must be counteracted by boldly taking a stand.
Thankfully, people are starting to wake up and become aware of what is going on. School board elections nationwide were dominated by those who oppose these teachings and the unscientific forced masking of young children (that’s a topic for another time). Increasing numbers of parents are removing their children from public schools altogether, with the number of home schooled children up more than 300% since the start of the 2019 school year.
Parental re-engagement in their children’s education is paramount to the future of our society. Our family joined the home school movement and we have now replaced elementary school race and gender indoctrination with a daily Bible lesson and history taught based on the founding principles. We are encouraging our older children to pursue entrepreneurial pursuits rather than becoming mindless, obedient drones.
Becoming aware that there is a culture war in the first place is a key step in turning the momentum around. However, the most important step in winning is to take an uncompromising stand on the firm foundation of Jesus (2 Timothy 2:19). This should be the underlying principle that drives our actions as relates to these issues. I challenge all Bold Males to get our minds right from a spiritual perspective, do not conform to the culture (Romans 12:2), and put on the armor of God as we are called to do in Ephesians 6:10-15, because this will not be an easy battle.
The enemy in this culture war is very crafty with their words and uses all types of techniques to attempt to shame us into silence. Be in God’s word and know that if you are following it, the enemy’s arrows will bounce off your armor because you are honoring the one true God. This protection will enable you to join the battle confidently.
